The Statue of Unity is the tallest statue in the world that portrays Sardar Vallabhai Patel, an Indian statesman, freedom fighter, and first home minister of independent India. This monument was inaugurated by the current Prime minister of India, Narendra Modi, on 31st October 2018 on the eve of the 143rd birth anniversary of Sardar Patel. The Statue of Unity is located on the river island opposite Sardar Sarovar Dam in Kevadiya Colony in the Narmada district in Gujarat. Indian sculptor Ram V. Sutar designed this statue. India’s largest infra company Larsen and Toubro, constructed it at approximately $422 million.

4. Vishwas Swaroopam Statue of Belief: Nathdwara, Rajasthan, India

5. Ushiku Daibutsu: Ibaraki, Japan

Constructed in 1993, UshikuDaibutsu is the fourth tallest statue in the world. This statue represents Amitabha Buddha, made up of Bronze, and is located in Japan’s Ushiku, Ibaraki Prefecture. The construction of this monument was done to commemorate the birth anniversary of Shinran, founder of the “True Pure Land School” of Buddhism. 6. Sendai Daikannon: Miyagi Prefecture, Japan

Sendai Daikannaon is the fifth world’s tallest monument located in Sendai, Japan. The Sendai Daikannon statue is Japan’s tallest statue of a goddess whose construction completion was in 1991. The first floor has giant statues of Buddha and mythical kings. At the 12th level of the structure, you can see the eight Buddhas kept in the timber cabinets for display.
